How do I join the live Classroom session?
Click the button in the JOIN YOUR CLASSROOM LIVE section on this page to join the live session. The waiting room will open approximately 15 minutes prior to the session. Please join via computer with your video capabilities turned on.
AUDIO/VIDEO & CONNECTIVITY ISSUES
How do I turn on my audio and video?
Why isn’t my audio & video working?
The first part of The Lead Classroom is a Case Study Presentation being presented in webinar mode. When you break out into the Collaborative Workshops following the Case Study Presentation, your audio and video will be enabled so you can see and speak to your fellow attendees.
What if I am still having issues with my camera?
If your web camera isn’t showing up, the first thing to do is check to make sure all other programs that use the webcam are closed. Zoom may not be able to use the camera if you’ve already given access to it in a different application.
If your webcam or audio still isn’t working, you can test your audio and video in Zoom by clicking this link. Once open, you can join a test call on the Zoom app, and follow the instructions on the screen.
If you’ve joined on the web (or to just double-check your webcam in the main Zoom app) you can also select your webcam by clicking Start Video (it might say Stop Video if you’re in a call). If the screen is blank, you can then click the arrow next to the video camera icon and choose Same As System (or you may see Integrated Camera) or a more specifically named webcam from the list.
What if I am still having trouble?
You might also want to download Zoom again and reinstall it.
Sometimes the problem might not be Zoom at all. If you’re on a Windows 10 or MacOS device, the webcam might be blocked. You can correct this by checking your app permissions to make sure the Zoom app or your web browser can use your webcam. On the web specifically, you also can check this setting by restarting your call and making sure you pressed Allow when prompted about the camera and microphone access.
My video is lagging or freezing… what do I do?
Lagging and freezing usually indicate a problem with your internet connection. If on a mobile device, try to move to an area with a more stable connection to see if this helps.
You may be able to improve video quality by changing your Zoom settings, as well. For example, disabling HD options or the Touch Up My Appearance setting will decrease the amount of bandwidth your video connection requires (and the overhead on your system’s hardware), and can help fix problems with lag.
HARDWARE & SOFTWARE TROUBLESHOOTING
Troubleshooting tips for macOS
- 1. Make sure that all other programs that utilize the camera, such as Photo Booth and Facetime, are closed.
- Restart your computer.
- If the camera still does not work in Zoom after restarting, check if the camera works in a Mac app, such as Photo Booth or Facetime.
Note: If you are on on Mac OS 10.14 Mojave and are still having difficulty accessing the camera, check your operating system permissions to confirm that Zoom has access to the camera. See Using the Zoom Client and Zoom Rooms with Mac OS 10.14 Mojave for more information.
Troubleshooting tips for Windows
- Make sure that all other programs that utilize the camera are not using the camera or are closed.
- Restart your computer.
- Uninstall the Zoom client and reinstall the latest version from our Download Center.
- Visit your device’s support and downloads page to update the camera driver:
Windows 10 has a privacy feature that may block Zoom from using the camera. Learn more about this feature and how to allow Zoom access to your webcam.
