“Connecting with the consumer in the local markets is key. We’re fortunate to have more technology and information than we did years ago, but I stay connected by traveling and meeting our local teams. It’s crucial to understand what’s happening and the local trends because there will always be nuances, even if there’s a connecting thread. I still believe in the almost old-school approach of visiting the market and immersing yourself in it. I also partner very closely with all our regional teams frequently to understand what’s shifting and happening. The customer journey is shifting, and it’s important to meet your customer where they are, whether that’s on different social platforms, using different technology, or physically getting out there and seeing how they are experiencing the brand in Paris, London, Shanghai, or Hong Kong.”
