A few big financial headlines this week starting with private equity firm 3G Capital buying Skechers and food delivery startup Wonder raising $600M in capital. Meanwhile, catering to a value-driven consumer in the coming months remains top of mind for services like GoPuff which launched GoXL and mall operators like Tanger with launched “Summer of Saving” promotion.

'INNOVATION MOVES'

  • Wonderbelly products now feature prominently at 2,500 Walmart stores nationwide via a fleet of endcaps. These offerings include reworked packaging as well as a debut multisymptom product designed to compete with Pepto-Bismol. (Fast Company)
  • Fair Harbor and Rothy’s are collaborating on a limited-edition men’s capsule for summer. Both brands have a mission to turn post-consumer waste such as discarded water bottles into wardrobe staples. The Fair Harbor x Rothy’s capsule will include two shoes and one piece of swimwear. (WWD)
  • GoPuff, the 15-minute grocery delivery company, debuted GoXL, a new nationwide initiative offering 300+ bulk-sized products that reach up to 50% cheaper per unit prices compared to its single-serve items. The items will still be delivered to customers’ doors, with a 30-pound weight limit for bike deliveries. GoXL is the delivery platform’s response to consumers’ concerns over the uncertainty of tariffs and the rising cost of goods. (RetailBrew)
  • Outlet mall owner and operator Tanger plans to begin this year’s back-to-school marketing about two months earlier than it usually would. The company plans to push customers to start back-to-school shopping beginning June 1 through its “Summer of Savings” campaign because of uncertainty associated with the new tariffs on China and other countries. (Modern Retail)
  • French menswear label, Crémieux, is opening a 1,600-square-foot space on Madison Avenue. The unit is designed to evoke the look of a French Riviera boutique and features a mix of vintage and modern details such as wooden shelves, brass racks and glass elements. Vintage haberdashery cabinets sourced from flea markets in Paris and London are included in the space along with a custom bar and a dedicated made-to-measure area. (WWD
