Meet Bonsai: Buy Incremental Customers & Profitable Growth

By Jordan Brenner
VP of Sales & Partnerships at The Lead

What is the problem you are solving, and who are you solving it for?

Brands lose up to $29 per new customer acquired because ad dollars go to conversions that aren’t incremental. Solving for true ROI across multiple platforms is confusing, cumbersome and technically challenging. Bonsai solves this problem through first-party AI, training ad platforms and brand teams to buy incremental customers & profitable growth. Bonsai’s Platform (called Overstory) delivers first-party marketing measurement and algorithms to B2C brands on a cloud-based solution that brands own. It’s durable, cookieless, with no data engineering required.

What is new, innovative and different about your solution?

Bonsai provides brands with a data-driven advantage in media buying and performance measurement, aligning insights with real business outcomes. Unlike traditional platforms, Overstory unifies business, website, and ad data into a cloud project that delivers media mix modeling, incrementality testing, attribution & audience integrations that all reconcile to your system of record. This eliminates data wrangling and biased insights from ad platforms, making advanced measurement seamless and actionable.

What is one impactful statistic you can share that you’re proud of?

By leveraging Bonsai’s platform, the average business making $250M in annual revenue saw an increase of $56M in revenue in 2024, without increasing spend.

What is your outlook for the 12-18 months?

With tariffs tightening margins and changing the playing field, the next 12-18 months will be defined by efficiency. We plan to increase our efforts to help brands optimize their marketing spend with consolidated data.

How much money have you raised?

We are completing our seed round this spring for approximately $2M.
