Tariffs were on again and then somewhat off again this week, leading to anxiety among consumers and businesses alike. Universal Standard is launching wholesale starting with an exclusive collection in Anthropologie.

'INNOVATION MOVES'

  • Paris’ Printemps, the French department store chain, will open its debut US outpost in Manhattan’s Financial District this month, focusing on food and beverage offerings as much as clothes. The entire store will be run like a luxury hotel or resort, where shoppers can spend an entire day simply hanging out. Rather than measuring success in terms of sales per square foot, Printemps New York is focused on the time customers choose to spend inside the store. (Business of Fashion)

  • Tecovas (Foremost 50 brand), is opening a 4,500-square-foot flagship store in SoHo this fall. The New York outpost is one of 12 new locations Tecovas plans to open in 2025, as part of a larger retail expansion that will bring its total store count up to 54 by the end of the year. It expects those new stores to accelerate growth, with sales projected to rise 20 percent year over year to $300 million in 2025. (Business of Fashion

  • Foot Locker plans to accelerate investments in its “reimagined” store concept. The company is moving swiftly to expand the format with plans to open or convert 80 stores to the concept this year and maintain or accelerate that rate over the coming years. (Retail Dive

  • Cos is launching an in-house fragrance line with Cos Perfumery. The debut collection of four scents will be available worldwide in-store and online. While the brand has previously sold fragrance by other makers this marks its first in-house release in beauty. (WWD
