KEY INDICATORS

  • Banana Republic has debuted “The Agency,” a five-episode short-form series on TikTok marking its entry into original programming. Following an executive team’s efforts to revamp the fictional travel agency Travel & Tours, the show highlights key Banana Republic apparel as parent company Gap Inc. doubles down on entertainment marketing. • Fashion brands are hosting a variety of pop-ups, shake-out runs, carb-loading dinners and cooldown parties around the NYC marathon. New Balance, Nike, Adidas, On Running, Puma, Saucony and Hoka are all hosting shakeout runs around the city in the days before the race. The brand activations aren’t limited to running brands, or even just activewear brands. H&M hosted a run on Tuesday followed by saunas and red light therapy. (Glossy)
  • As streamers on Twitch and Discord  command the attention and shape the style preferences of young male audiences alongside mainstream celebrities, fashion houses and sportswear labels are increasingly seeking partnerships with them. Platform-native creators are making significant strides in the fashion industry – Twitch’s most-followed streamer, Kai Cenat, unveiled his clothing line, Vivet and brands like 424, Burberry, and H&M have invited creators to sit front-row or walk the runway this year. Additionally, sportswear giants like Adidas and Under Armour have teamed up with streamers for custom sneaker releases. (BoF)
  • According to Sprout Social data, over 80% of marketers plan to increase influencer budgets in the next 6 to 12 months to build brand awareness. However, influencer marketing has grown more costly due to elaborate PR packages, expensive brand trips, and higher fees, while platform tools like Meta’s creator suite have added complexity. The explosion of influencers has led to similar growth in the number of agencies out there who manage them. One third of marketers who in-housed influencer management previously worked with an agency, with cost effectiveness being ranked in the top three reasons for the change. (Marketing Dive)
  • Google’s AI-powered Universal Cart, which lets shoppers put products from multiple brands and retailers in one cart and buy using a single checkout, rolled out in the US, ahead of the holidays. (Tech Crunch)
  • Starting in Q4, Reddit will test logged-in-only mode in select markets outside the US, as the first step toward bringing it in line with how every other social media platform operates. Logged-in users already account for more than 80% of Reddit’s monetization. But making users sign in to read Reddit isn’t just about driving engagement, it also strengthens ad targeting and first-party data collection, and it protects Reddit’s content from being scraped by AI crawlers. • Over the last three years, spending on private-label beauty and personal care in the US more than doubled from 2.8 percent to 6.2 percent, according to Nielsen IQ. As consumers seek value, and the economics of launching a brand become more challenging, retailers are finding that incubating their own labels and utilising existing real estate is an increasingly attractive model. Apparel retailers such as Gap and Zara have resurrected or beefed up their fragrance assortments, while big-box stores have also tinkered with elevating their private-label offerings, such as with Bluemercury’s reimagined cosmetics label, Lune+Aster. HOW MIZ MOOZ GREW REVENUE 23% AND CUT STOCKOUTS 62% WITH SMARTER SEASONAL BUYING

With two major inventory buys each year, footwear brand Miz Mooz faced high-stakes decisions that could lead to costly stockouts or excess inventory. Relying on spreadsheets and historical sales data made forecasting demand especially difficult for new styles. Conative unified sales, inventory, and marketing data, using deep learning forecasts and early risk detection to help the team make smarter buying decisions. The result? 23% year-over-year revenue growth for its Spring 2026 collection and 62% fewer stockouts among top-performing styles.
